A major upgrade to Blackboard software is Blackboard Learn Release 9. Release 9 is built around an improved user interface and a Web 2.0 environment including social and collaborative learning tools such as blogs, notification features, and supports new opportunities to sync Blackboard course information with external online sites like Facebook and mobile devices like the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
